Australia first took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 and has entered 11 contests. Its best result in a final is second place, in 2016 with Sound Of Silence by Dami Im. Since the semi-finals were introduced in 2004 it has qualified for the Grand Final 7 times in 10 attempts, not counting years with an automatic place. The countries that have given it most points in total are Poland (159) and Sweden (141); it has itself given most points to Sweden (183).
