Malta

Malta first took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1971 and has entered 38 contests. Its best result in a final is second place, in 2002 with 7th Wonder by Ira Losco. It reached that place twice. Its highest score in a final is 255 points, in 2021 with Je Me Casse. Since the semi-finals were introduced in 2004 it has qualified for the Grand Final 10 times in 20 attempts, not counting years with an automatic place. The countries that have given it most points in total are the United Kingdom (175) and Ireland (170); it has itself given most points to Sweden (324).
